Meeting 1
Date: April 9 2004
Where: Dr. Murrell Office
Purpose: 1. Will we be effective as team of 4?
2. How do we start?
1. We discussed the level at which we want to implement the operating system
--> We concluded that we want our operating system to run on an emulator (VMWare).

2. We were concerned that working in a group of 4 would not be ideal
--> Dr. Murrell told us that it wouldn't be a problem.
--> He suggested that we form sub-committees of two
--> Each sub-committee would be focused on a particular task.

3. We discussed the basics of the operating systems to be: such as boot loaders, operating in real-mode versus protected-mode, and other basic aspects were discussed.
--> We concluded that basic functions such as getting input from the keyboard and writing to discs would not be worth implementing on our own and that we could use available functions for those functionalities.
--> As a rule: we will not do any assembly language
