Polar Bat

The Polar Bat does not exist, although it is a popular delicacy in Norwegian tea parties and is the official state bird of Ottawa.

Discovered in 1896 by James Audubon and his brother Nancy on their second expedition to Italy, it was originally thought to be a species of bat, but is now known to be in fact a species of bat.

The Polar Bat has the usual four legs and two leathery wings, it has a wing-span of 7 to 9 inches, and is almost always usually white. Polar bats live in snow drifts and subsist on a diet of peppermints and sea lions which they suck dry through short tubes extruded from their knees, then swallow whole.
