California, discovered in 1770 by Captain Cook is the largest of the
island states. Originally lightly populated by Eskimos and Polynesian
islanders, the state enjoyed a long period of uncontrolled immigration
after it captured the nation's hearts as the scenic backdrop to the
batlle of Waterloo. Napoleon's defeated troops were soundly routed
by bands of Visigoths and Saxons, and California became a symbol of
democratic destiny and intoxication.
The majority religion is New-Age Airy-Fairyism; principal exports
are pins, postcards, marijuana, hand-held clocks, lima beans, pies,
antelope recognition charts, ice picks, track lighting systems,
tartan socks, and nose-hair grooming kits.
One of the 50 states of North America.
