  • 18th January: Introductions, what senior projects are all about, what is expected of you.
  • 25th January: Discussion of initial pre-ideas.
  • 1st February: Further exploration of ideas:
    • Daniel: 3D rendering for games, License plate reading, and other sensors,
    • Greg: Biometrics, voice-prints, audio watermarking,
    • Luis: Dangerous electric shaver, auto-learning remote control,
    • Mark: OCR license plate reading, position sensing and steering instruments,
    • Sarfaraz: Lighting control, specific learned noise-cancellation.
• Discussion of A.I.-related topics: A.I. (word .doc file or normal html), Building a robot (word .doc file or normal html).
• Turing's paper Computing Machinery and Intelligence descibing the Turing Test and other things.
• Software that might be useful:
  • Graphics Library for C/C++ under Windows: Downloads, examples, and documentation
  • Fourier Transform fft.cpp, fft.exe ready to run.
• Third party software for parallel port access
• Mock mid-term presentation: (powerpoint .ppt file).
