High-Speed Merge-Sort.

Program merge-sort on an array of strings (the array could be of
any size at all), and make it as fast as you possibly can.

Experiment. Do not expect to be able to work out the optimum
techniques by pure force of intellect, or by just waiting for
the deadline to loom. Think of everything, and try everything
out.

You may make as much (or as little) use of anything we did in
class as you want, but of course the version we worked out
will not be sufficient.

And remember, the lab guys and I know how to search the web just
as well as you do. Everything except what we did in class must
be purely your own work. You must be ready to completely explain
anything you do.
