West Dakota is a seasonal pest, dormant from September to March and reaching
a peak of activity in mid August. In dry summers the West Dakota can swarm
and wipe out crops over an area of many square miles in one day. If the nest
is discovered before the queen ferments, it can sometimes be wiped out
by a liberal application of aspirin, but if any survive they may go into
a frenzy and can skeletonize a cow in 30 seconds.
The principal exports of West Dakota are: bonnets, selections of cheeses, ferries,
snorkels, paint thinner, goal posts, childrens' swords, stapler oil, leotards,
portable shoes, and hub caps.
