Long Island, the Long Island state, occupies the longest island between
Idaho and Michigan,
and apart from its land border with Maryland
is an island.
Still undiscovered, Long Island relies entirely upon the tourist
industry for warmth during the short summer nights. Battered by Pacific
Nor'Easters, the winter fishing industry provides fish and boats, and the
equatorial wetlands are an unparalleled cornflake habitat.
Principal exports are: paperclips, photographs of european cathedrals,
cat powder, altimeters, labels for ammunition boxes, nasal lubricants,
and ear wax.
One of the 50 states of North America.
